Keynote Proposal
“Be the Sun and Not the Wind”
Abstract
Nurses and nurse practitioners have made a bold choice in their profession. They have INTENTIONALLY chosen to place themselves in the middle of everyone elses problems.
In the ancient fable, we see a contest between the sun and the wind. We can apply this fable to our lives. We can either choose to be the wind, and try to push and pull our way through life or we can choose to be the sun, and brighten everyone’s day and realize that our day is brighter in return.
This exciting presentation is drawn from personal experience through 30 years of combined corporate and non-profit work. Additionally, this program focuses on the touch points that impacted Lee through multiple stays in the hospital for both he and his family members. His conclusion: Nurses are put on this earth to be the Sun for everyone else.
